St J Holiday Celebration of Traditions Old and New
The annual Holiday Celebration of Traditions Old and New began with Victorian Holiday. Traditionally on the second Saturday of December, this festival has proved to be popular with young and old. The goal of this celebration is bring the spirit of the holidays to the entire community.

In 2010 the Chamber set its sights higher and created a month long celebration that begins the first weekend of December with a tree lighting ceremony and the opening of Santa's Village at the Historic Train Depot. Santa and his elves visit each weekend on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. With activities and pictures it is a wonderful time for everyone. Holiday music is piped around town and holiday shops open their doors.
Victorian Holiday on the second Saturday is still an anchor of the season and continues to grow with events that include wagon rides, carollers, children's activities and music. Shops bring musicians, authors, and other special treats.
Homes and shops compete for an award for the best holiday display.
Organizations and their volunteers, shopkeepers, and visitors all make this a holiday celebration to be remembered.
The grand finale is First Night St. Johnsbury. A New Year's eve celebration that is the second oldest in the country (right behind Boston). Family activities start in mid afternoon, continue through the evening with time for a pancake late night supper that ends just in time for a fantastic fireworks show as the clock counts down to midnight.
JOIN US to help continue to make this a celebration that everyone enjoys all season long.
