What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative Justice brings crime victims, offenders and the community together to reach agreements that address the harm caused to the victim and the damage done to the community. It addresses the need for the offender to understand the human consequences of his or her actions. The goals are for the offender to take responsibility for their actions, to repair the harm done to the victim and the community, and to explore ways to avoid similar offenses.
